The Web100 software implements a set of instruments in the TCP/IP stack of an operating system. The software is divided in two pieces:
These pieces must be downloaded and installed separately. While the kernel patch may be used by itself, the userland requires the kernel patch to be installed and functioning for it to work. The kernel and userland may be upgraded completely independently of each other, unless otherwise noted.
The variables instrumented are documented in the tcp-kis.txt document distributed with the kernel patch.
IMPORTANT: Before installing, first read the README, then the INSTALL documents which come with both the kernel and userland packages.
Please note that each Web100 kernel patch is only valid for one particular version of the Linux kernel. We do our best to provide patches against the most current Linux kernel release. We unfortunately do not have the resources to provide official patches for "vendor" kernels.
